Diabetes is a condition of the modern world, a product of a contemporary lifestyle, unhealthy habits and our metabolic processes.

  • This November, MGM Healthcare emphasizes the dynamic changes in diabetes and its management with the theme “Know your risk, Know your response”. This year’s theme focuses on how to identify the risk factors, urging everyone to take proactive measures or healthier lives and a supportive environment.
    Globally, diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions, with a projected increase from 8.0% in 2007 to 7.3% by 2025 (International Diabetes Federation)

Types of Diabetes:

Type 1 Diabetes: (Juvenile Diabetes)

  • It is an autoimmune condition targeting insulin-producing beta cells in pancreas, facilitating daily insulin injections or insulin pumps.

Type 2 Diabetes (Adult - onset Diabetes)

  • It is a condition in which the body either produces insufficient insulin or it resists insulin. It is often linked with lifestyle, obesity, and sedentary habits. It can be managed through lifestyle modifications and medications.

Gestational Diabetes

    Polyuria – Frequent urination
    Polydipsia – Excessive thirst
    Polyphagia – Excessive hunger

    Diabetic Foot ulcers
    Delayed wound healing
    Acanthosis Nigricans
