Dr Balaji Bashyam

Dr. Balaji Bashyam is a Senior Consultant in Advanced Spine Surgery with over a decade of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex spinal disorders. He provides personalised, evidence-based care for conditions including spinal stenosis, herniated discs, spondylodiscitis, osteoporotic vertebral fractures, degenerative disc disease, kyphosis, scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL), ossified yellow ligament, and spinal pain.

He completed his M.S. in Orthopaedics and pursued advanced training in spine surgery, including a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He has also undertaken advanced international training as an AO Spine Fellow in Germany and an observership at Macquarie University Hospital, North Shore, Sydney.

Dr. Balaji is committed to advancing his expertise through continued participation in conferences, workshops, fellowships, and professional training programmes. He has contributed to medical literature through publications and presentations in the field of orthopaedics and spine surgery.

He is associated with several professional organisations, including the Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association (TNOA), Indian Medical Association (IMA), Indian Orthopaedics Association (IOA), Orthopaedic Association of South India, AO Spine, and the Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI).
