Dr. D. VASUDEVAN

Dr. D. Vasudevan, MD (Medicine) and DM (Neurology), FRCP (Glasgow), FIAN, was a distinguished senior consultant neurologist at The Brain, Spine & Nerve Centre, Chennai. He had numerous publications in national and international journals and served as an examiner for DM Neurology in various universities, as well as PhD guide and examiner. He was the editor and author of Practice Pearls in Neurology Series 1, 2 and 3, Management Pearls in Neurology, section editor and author in the IAN Textbook of Neurology First Edition, and Handbook of Neurological Drugs.

He conducted numerous workshops in clinical electrophysiology and served as principal investigator for clinical trials in epilepsy, stroke, peripheral neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease, and spinal cord diseases. He founded “Beyond Brain” Colloquia for the study of consciousness and chaired the Contemplative Neurology Subsection of IAN.

His memberships included Life Member of Indian Academy of Neurology, Indian Epilepsy Association, Indian Medical Association, Indian Stroke Association, Clinical Neurophysiology Subsection of IAN, and Tamilnadu and Pondicherry Association of Neurologists; Member of Association of Physicians of India and American Academy of Neurology; and Life Member of Movement Disorders Society of India.
