People with kidney disease and other severe chronic medical conditions are at higher risk for more severe illness. Patients on dialysis can have weaker immune systems, making it harder to fight infections.

65-year-old Tapti Mukherjee had come to MGM from Kolkata with serious kidney disease, while also being COVID-positive. When she was received at MGM, she was in a severely malnourished and ill condition. The expert team of nephrologists, led by Dr Georgi, Dr Milli and Dr Nagarajan, took care of Mrs Tapti and helped her recover well, while managing her kidney condition.
