Duct dependent conditions

some neonates are born with condition where blood supply to the body or the lungs is dependent on the duct while their normal path is either not developed or extremely narrow. These conditions require urgent intervention and management to save life and the team has the expertise to manage them by using either ductal stenting procedure or surgical shunt procedures. Coarctation is a condition where the blood vessel supplying the body gets narrowed and sometimes requires urgent intervention as  the heart becomes weak pumping against the narrowing or the gut and kidney may become dysfunctional due to reduced blood supply.
