Nation’s first CT-guided Minimally Invasive Neuro Surgical Procedure
MGM Healthcare successfully performed a CT- guided Minimally Invasive Neuro Surgical Procedure on a 28-year-old patient from Bangladesh for the very first time in the country. The surgery was successfully performed on 7th September 2021. A multi-disciplinary team, led by Dr K Sridhar, Director and Group Head, Institute of Neurosciences and Spinal Disorders and Dr. Navin Gnanasekaran, Associate Director of Medical Services and Senior Consultant, Radiology, performed the complex minimally invasive pain-relieving procedure on the patient.
A young mother, Mrs Sheuli Goldar, aged 28, had been suffering from severe left side pain at the nape of her neck and head for the past 9 years. The constant pain caused her intense agony and hampered her daily activities, including taking care of her 8-year-old child. After hearing of the expertise of the team at MGM Healthcare, she came here. The Neuro team performed an MRI scan and diagnosed that the pain was emanating from the left Cervical C2 Dorsal root ganglion.
Dr Sridhar suggested the surgery and to do the procedure, the CT suite was turned into a temporary sterile operation theatre. We are happy to announce that the surgery was successfully and the patient is now pain free, giving her the best quality of life ahead.
At MGM Healthcare, our world-class experts are constantly in the pursuit of giving patients the best possible care.
