Dr Nisha Miriam George, Senior Consultant, Pediatrics and Neonatology at MGM Healthcare, talks about the necessity of special care for adolescents.
She says that families give all their attention to their newborn baby, right from the soap they use to how they smile and all other minute details. Dr Nisha implies that when children grow into their adolescence age, which can be anytime between 10 to 12, parents often neglect their children in effect to disruptive mood swings and behavioral changes. However, adolescents also need special care. They need someone to guide them and provide a non-judgemental ear. Adolescents needs special physical and psychological needs.
At MGM Children’s, we provide an all-round special care to adolescents through the Adolescent Clinic. The clinic attends to support services to adolescents like gynaecology, psychiatry and physiology. We also take care of their special immunizations.
