“A biopsy can cause cancer to spread.” This is a myth. A breast biopsy is a straightforward medical procedure that involves the removal of a sample of breast tissue and sending it to a lab for examination. A breast biopsy is the most accurate approach to determine whether a suspicious lump or area of your breast is malignant. There is no scientific proof that biopsy causes cancer to spread. It still remains the gold standard in cancer diagnosis.
