In another episode of busting myths, Dr Veda Padma Priya, Senior Consultant, Department of Breast Oncology and Oncoplasty at MGM Healthcare, is here to state the facts and set things straight about breast cancer.

“Finding a lump in your breast means you have breast cancer”. This is a great myth. Only a small fraction of breast lumps are cancerous. However, if you find a new persistent lump in your breast or detect any changes in breast tissue, don’t dismiss it. It’s critical that you have a clinical breast exam from a doctor. He or she may conduct breast imaging studies to establish whether or not this lump is a cause for concern.
