Today, as part of International Men’s Health Week, we are covering men’s health in terms of their heart health. In India, almost half of the men in urban areas and one-third of those in rural areas suffer from some kind of heart disease. There are many causes that may affect heart health – ranging from genetic to environmental.
Earlier, the age at which men developed cardiac conditions was around 50 years. But today, more men are acquiring these issues as early as their 30s. This shows the lack of awareness about heart health.
Increased physical activity, reduced stress levels and a healthy and balanced diet can help in keeping your heart healthy and reducing the risk of cardiac diseases. Never take small symptoms for granted. If you feel any of these symptoms, consult a cardiologist at the earliest.
