Into her New Phase of Life – 14-year-old Ms.Shreya Pal

When the autorickshaw that carried 14-year-old Shreya Pal of West Bengal, toppled over, the youngster suffered a severe injury to her head.

With treatment failing, she was referred to MGM Healthcare, Chennai.

It was here that she was also newly diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus, in addition to Type 2 Odontoid Fracture with Atlanto Axial Instability. Under the expert supervision of Dr. Roopesh Kumar, Director of Neurosurgery, Ms.Pal underwent C1 C2 stabilization. Post surgery, she was shifted to Paediatric ICU with consultations from Dr. Swamikannu on diabetes.

Ms. Pal has successfully recovered and is now on her road to a new phase of life.
