Hypertensive emergency is a severe form of high blood pressure. A hypertensive emergency is described as an immediate, severe increase in blood pressure, causing damage to at least one vital organ, such as the brain, heart, kidneys or even arteries. The doctor shares that hypertensive emergencies can affect both younger and older people and there are various reasons like lifestyle, body weight and stress that influence high blood pressure.
