Preterm neonates

Normal pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks, children who are born before 37 weeks are called preterm. Preterm children have a host of problems and require expert and experienced clinical and nursing care for good outcome. The common problems are immature lungs, maintenance of body temperature, sugar and salt levels in the blood , persistence of Patent ductus arteriosus ( PDA ) , management of gut and kidney function.
