The Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at MGM Children’s has been set up to serve the children of our community and their families through comprehensive pediatric care and child healthcare services. We offer a wide range of pediatric hospital care catering to all age groups, from a newborn baby up to 18 years of age. This includes well-baby care, immunization, specialty clinics, newborn resuscitation, transport facilities, state-of-the-art neonatal ICU and pediatric ICU, and a dedicated pediatric emergency room.

A newborn is cared for from the moment of birth by well-trained and qualified neonatologists, ensuring safe and attentive newborn and neonatal care. We have a well-equipped Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a tertiary care facility catering to extremely premature newborns and managing complex neonatal conditions with compassionate care. Babies born elsewhere are transported through our dedicated neonatal transport service using a specialized transport incubator with ventilation support.

We have a dedicated and efficient Paediatric Emergency Room (ER) that functions 24×7, including public holidays, and is supported by trained teams to provide timely paediatric emergency care. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) delivers comprehensive, holistic pediatric hospital care for children with severe illnesses, following established clinical standards to ensure high-quality care. Our pediatric team brings together expertise across multiple subspecialties, supporting diverse child healthcare needs through structured evening clinics.

A senior consultant in the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology, Dr. Deepa Easow is a pediatrician with over 15 years of experience in managing sick children and newborns, supporting comprehensive child healthcare. Her field of interest is the growth and nutrition of children. An alumna of the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, she has gained vast experience in managing various pediatric health conditions that affect children.

Dr Nisha Miriam George

With over 15 years of experience as a general pediatrician, Dr. Nisha has a special interest in the areas of emergency room care and inpatient care of children and adolescents, as well as management of children in the PICU. Dr Pilli Govardhan

A consultant in the Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology, Dr. Pilli Govardhan comes with experience in neonatology and general pediatrics. In the past 10 years, he has worked in renowned neonatal intensive care units and has managed all kinds of sick newborns. He is well-versed in the newer protocols of neonatology and the Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation program.

Dr Sukanya Govindan

Consultant – Paediatric Nephrologist

Dr Sukanya Govindan is a highly skilled and dedicated pediatric nephrologist with 10 years of experience providing specialized care to children with kidney disorders.

She completed her postgraduation in pediatrics from JIPMER, Puducherry, and then underwent extensive training in nephrology, including a DM in nephrology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, India.
